It is exactly 1 week since my last post. It is really amazing that so much has happened during this 1 week.
1. Graduation Night @ Grand Hyatt Hotel.
2. Evolve MMA @ Far East Square.
3. Training @ CCAB.
4. Games Day @ WDP.
5. SC Camp @ WDP.
These were 5 very significant events of this year. & if any of you were wondering why is training which occurs at least 3 times a week so special this time, read on.
1. Graduation Night @ Grand Hyatt Hotel.
I believe the sub title is self explanatory. Graduation – it sums all the dudes hard work, sweat, stress, pain, homework, swears & curses, joys & laughter of all our times in school. It marks the end of our uniquely all boys experience in high school, to a whole new level of school in jc.
Below is the dedication for 4B1,
As the ending of my sec4 year dawned upon me, I can’t help but feel sad that this class of 39 is going to dis-class soon, never to be together again, at least as a class. Every one of us are going on separate ways, to pursue our vastly different interests & talents. Though there are unpleasant times when there are fights & all. However, those are compensated by the happier times we shared, however lame & childish they seem.
After this year, I am certain that we will not be able to unleash our war cry together & discuss seemingly shocking content so openly, or even simply having fun together by engaging in a simple game of SSB or class soccer / basketball anymore. We will eventually drift apart & this is sadly inevitable.
Sometimes when I leave the classroom after school, I will turn & look, a tinge of sadness sank in as I knew my sec4 school years are going to be truly over no matter how many times I look. I cherished those moments as a class, probably that’s why I know I am going to miss them so much. Let’s try to turn the clock 2 years back. I hope. I wish. Our days as a class are numbered. I hope the rest of the year would be filled with more pleasantries & that I will remember the 4B1 as the biggest & funkiest class that is united in the face of all odds & is capable as well to achieve greater heights.
Hereby, I sincerely thank each one of my classmates for making my sec 3 & 4 years so enjoyable & fulfilling. Lets strive together & cross the final hurdle. As one. At the end of the day, it is my hope that when we bump into each other in the faraway future, we will remember that we were once classmates together.
Yup.
& to the rest of the Singapore kids who’s graduating, & obviously to my batch mates too, is an excerpt from a commencement speech by Jeff Priceton.
Tomorrow, in a very real sense, your life -- the life you author from scratch on your own -- begins.
How will you use your gifts? What choices will you make?
Will inertia be your guide, or will you follow your passions?
Will you follow dogma, or will you be original?
Will you choose a life of ease, or a life of service and adventure?
Will you wilt under criticism, or will you follow your convictions?
Will you bluff it out when you're wrong, or will you apologize?
Will you guard your heart against rejection, or will you act when you fall in love?
Will you play it safe, or will you be a little bit swashbuckling?
When it's tough, will you give up, or will you be relentless?
Will you be a cynic, or will you be a builder?
Will you be clever at the expense of others, or will you be kind?
I will hazard a prediction. When you are 80 years old, and in a quiet moment of reflection narrating for only yourself the most personal version of your life story, the telling that will be most compact and meaningful will be the series of choices you have made. In the end, we are our choices. Build yourself a great story. Thank you and good luck!

2. Evolve MMA @ Far East Square.
I am seriously super duper hyper cyber uber ultra very very interested to join this school. The introduction class was fantastic man. The instructor taught me a few techniques, but those were just the tip of the iceberg. Contrary to what I thought, martial arts in reality not as easy as it seems. Half an hour of the punching & kicking already got me sweating. I’d really, REALLY like to join the school to learn more. DAMN. 4k, drop from the sky, please.
3. Training @ CCAB.
It has been very much a while since I got killed & intimidated in volleyball. But that training really woke me up. I got killed by Melvin Goh. Simple as that. But in actually fact it’s not as simple as it may seem. I realized that despite being going so far, I’m still so far. I hope this doesn’t make sense to anyone because I don’t want it to. HA. I need to train. Badly. Desperately. To be on top. I cant stand losing anymore. NEVER.
4. Games Day @ WDP.
Every year it has been a whole new experience, & no exceptions this time. Tag Rugby was something I am totally foreign from. For the past 3 years it has always been Handball or Captains Ball. This year proved to be a challenge. Especially since I didn’t know most of the SC’s working with me too, plus it was outdoor in the field. Anyway, like I always like to say, “it’ll always work out somehow.” & yes it did ^^ Thanks to all the cute little kids in WDP & my fellow SC’s – Albert, Siew Ming, Kai Jin, Daphne, JiaJun, Sheryl, Serene, Zharfan, Haziq, Ariel(?), Bowen & many more, well done guys!

5. SC Camp @ WDP.
Feelings before going the camp was strange & ambivalent, whether it’ll turn out good, bad, fun, fail, or however cliché it may be, happily ever after. Thankfully, due to everyone’s cooperation & teamwork, everything worked out extremely well, or much better than expected. It went on smooth sailing without much problems, & if there were any, those problems were crafted wickedly by the teachers. Kudos to all for making this year’s camp so outstanding. All the seniors & teachers were doing their best to make this camp fun for the juniors, & vice versa, the juniors were copperating much too. Not to mention, I made loads of friends too. Well yeah, I guess, praises could lift the camp to the skies, but if you weren’t there, you would not be able to feel the gratification because no words are apt enough to describe it. Yes again, I guess words fail me. Alexithymia? Maybe. It was just a wonderful experience altogether. Nuff said. Let the pictures do the talking.

SC'06! :D

Spider Web Station! Handsome Wan Xin, Greedy Pig Jia En, & Me! :D

This is undoubtedly a week I’ll never trade any other for. Fulfilling & enriching, ttm.
One's philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes. In the long run, we shape our lives and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And, the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
