Yearssssssss have past since I last updated. Sorry guys, I’ve either been too busy or lazy to update.

Let me try to recap what has happened hm.

    1. WDP SC Outing at Sentosa & Crystal’s House.

The Sentosa outing was extremely fun. We were trying to push each other down into the sea. In the end everyone was in the sea & we played Monkey in the H2o. Continuously trying to throw Jia En & Ting En into the water was also a highlight of the outing. Ting En was the boring willing party, at times even offered to ‘suicide’ & jump into the water herself. What a joke! Jia En was on the other extreme end of the spectrum. She was awfully unwilling to into the sea & kept struggling like cat, scratching, biting, kicking & what not. However satisfaction overwhelmed when we succeeded throwing her into the sea. Well Done SC :)

Good times never last, lightning flashed, thunder clapped & the lightning alert rang. We got out of the water with nothing to do on our agenda. We then tried to bury Chong Wei under the sand. The end product was, obscene. With again nothing to do, an ingenious idea came from a genius, probably yours truly, to start digging holes on the beach. Without further ado everyone started digging (like a dog). I was the judge – which hole was the deepest. In the end Kang Raye won with the deepest hole that could almost bury Jia En & Ting en up to their stomach. Good Job Kang, too bad we didn’t manage to finish the job by burying those two into the hole. Night fell, & we headed to Vivo for dinner – Carl’s Junior! Expensive but strictly sinful.

On the way home, we corner the Chits to enquire about the true definition of Chit. According to them, it is **** ******* ** *******. Hehehe. I’m such a wonderful senior I kept my promise & didn’t disclose the ‘truth’ to public.

After that we met up with Lucas, Crystal & Hui Xian. We were planning to stayover at Crystal’s house but due to unforeseen circumstances, me & Wan Xin had to leave in the middle of the night. We played Snap, Taiti, Bridge & all the lame card games you could think of with 52 cards.

The cab fare back was 16.50 bucks. But it was a day well spent none the less.

    Buried Chong Wei!

    Everyone DIGGING!

    Carl's Junior yum yum!

    :)

    2. WDP Alumni Volleyball Game.

Playing with a wrist injury was by no means fun, but the company was great though. I saw many of my cute little juniors as well as ex teammates. Ah those young & innocent times (with none or little homework), how I miss those times! It was a good day spent catching up with them. I’m looking forward for more in time to come!

    3. Taiwan Training Trip.

Here’s a reflection I’ve done for the trip.

Over the past few days, much has happened – team building, training and playing with higher level opponents, cultural visits, and the list goes on.

In this reflection, I shall briefly touch on what has happened during the team’s trip in Taiwan, and analyze the significance and implications of those events.

Truth to be told, I had personally learnt nothing much from the ‘cultural trips’ that were planned for us. However, it would also be a mistake to conclude that the trip has not opened me up to the culture in Taiwan. Notably, the Taiwanese have a very strong sense of environmental protection. The ‘Green Movement’ there was especially commendable. From hawker food in the street hawkers to lunch in the schools, inherently everyone (and I mean everyone) was particular about recycling.

In retrospect, despite being vastly outplayed by our Taiwan opponents, it seems that those friendlies will play an integral role of allowing everyone in the team to reflect on their own mistakes, eventually enabling the team to strive to greater heights with a higher level of game play.

Indubitably, if there was one thing particularly meaningful I took away from this trip, it is with resonating reassurance - team bonding. The principle plethora of time spent together with the team led to a subtle metamorphosis of deeper understanding between teammates, regardless extrinsically or intrinsically. We left Singapore as strangers, but made friends with each other and became teammates in Taiwan. As history has proven over and over again, overseas trip with the team has definitely played a pivotal role in helping the team to grow together.

The frustrating reality of our measly 7-day Taiwan trip did nothing to help the situation. That said, I will stop crying my heart out, take what I need and be on my way. Here is a sincere thanks for everyone who has made this trip a positive experience, minor discrepancies notwithstanding. Therefore the verdict stands, short shopping time allocated and unplanned itinerary aside, my evaluation of the trip is an attitude, transcending simple cultural experience and skills development, towards a higher level of volleyball. Much as I’d like to round this up with something extraordinarily cheesy, I am just glad to have been part of this trip since the very first step, that’s all. Adios and peace out.

I loveeeee the bentos there super delicious!

Oyster omelette that owns Singapore's anytime!

MANGO SHAVING / ICE. SUPER SUPER NICE!!!

    4. Christmas Gathering at Galv’s.

Once again it was great to see my boarding school mate, my floormates, my roommates as well as mentor. We spent the time at Galv’s house chillin, watching Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead’s Man Chest or Dead Man’s Chest. The food provided was awesome too. I especially loved Mrs Sng’s trifle wooo world class man. Though the dessert was a little messy, but don’t judge a dessert by its looks yo, it was REALLY good. I received my Christmas exchange present from Nic Chuan – a book titled Never Let Me Go. I’m still in the process of reading it. Nothing much as of now, hope the story gets more interesting as it progresses on. Ahhhhh, it was another good day spent catching up with old mates.

    Presentssss!

    Lovely December.
